Gigi’s Playhouse Receives Donation from Public Service Credit Union through Rock Your Socks Fundraiser



In support and solidarity, the DE&I and CARE Committee of Public Service Credit Union rallied together during the month of March to raise funds in celebration of Rocks Your Socks Day, in observance of World Down Syndrome Day.


Throughout the month of March, staff of Public Service Credit Union sold "Rock Your Socks" buttons in branches, igniting enthusiasm and participation for the cause. Thanks to the overwhelming support of the members and community, a total of $1556.31 was raised, reflecting the collective commitment to inclusivity and support for individuals with Down syndrome.


On March 21st, 2024, World Down

Syndrome Day, Public Service Credit Union employees wore vibrant and whimsical socks, embodying the spirit of the occasion and spreading joy throughout the branches. The colorful display served as a visible symbol of solidarity and acceptance for individuals with Down syndrome. All proceeds from the fundraiser were donated to Gigi's Playhouse, Down Syndrome Achievement Center of Metro Detroit located in Southfield, MI. Gigi’s Playhouse is dedicated to supporting individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. Board President, Denise Moore, provided a tour and overview of the facility to PSCU, offering firsthand insight into the impactful work being done at Gigi's Playhouse. “Thank you for celebrating World Down Syndrome Day and rocking your socks!! We truly appreciate your support,” wrote Kathleen Tynes, Program Coordinator for Gigi’s Playhouse.
