Protect Yourself Against Fraud and Scams
Never Share MFA Codes
Public Service Credit Union would like to remind members and consumers to never share personal account information, especially one‑time MFA verification codes, with anyone who calls, texts, or emails them.
An MFA code, or multi‑factor authentication code, is a one‑time security code sent to your phone or email when logging into online or mobile banking. It is designed to confirm your identity and protect your account.
Scammers may pretend to be your financial institution and ask for this code. Sharing it can give criminals access to your funds through online and mobile banking. A credit union will never ask for your password, PIN, or MFA verification code.
If this happens:
• Do not provide any information
• Hang up immediately
• Contact your financial institution directly using the number on its official website or the back of your card
• If you already shared information, call right away so your account can be secured
Protecting your verification codes helps protect your money!
