How to dispute a debit card charge

Have you recently discovered a suspicious or unauthorized charge on your debit card statement? Don't worry, we've got you covered! Our dedicated Dispute Intake Center is here to help you resolve any issues with ease and efficiency.

To dispute a debit card charge is simple! You may need to provide copies of receipts and any other supporting documents you have. If the merchant agrees with your dispute, it will issue a reversal of the transaction.

 

To get started, follow these steps:

​Review the details of the charge

Contact the merchant as they may be able to resolve charge errors first

Select the appropriate dispute reason from the list below and gather supporting information

 

Dispute Reasons

  • ​Don’t recognize charge

    • ​Description of the charge 

    • Did you give access to your card to someone 

    • Do you have access to your card

  • Don’t agree with amount

    • Description of charge

    • Receipt

    • Proof of trying to contact the merchant first with results

  • Duplicate charges

    • Description of charge

    • Receipt

    • Proof of trying to contact the merchant first with results

  • Cancelled or returned

    • Description of charge

    • Receipt

    • Proof of return

    • Proof of trying to contact the merchant first with results

  • Cancelled a monthly charge but still being billed

    • Description of charge

    • Receipt

    • Proof of Cancellation

    • Proof of trying to contact the merchant first with results

  • Haven’t received the goods or services

    • Description of charge

    • Receipt

    • Proof of trying to contact the merchant first with results

  • Goods/services weren’t as described

    • Description of charge

    • Receipt

    • Proof of trying to contact the merchant first with results

   

 Once all information is prepared, call us at 734-641-8400 and press the option for disputes.

Monday - Friday (8:30am - 5:30pm) or Saturday (8:30am - 1:00pm).
